Oma and Opa Christmas

My parents came around the 20th to see us and give presents. Caden loves their motor-home and blesses it every night in his prayers (as well as Oma, Opa, Wally, and Sassy).

Oma reading to Caden. If you look closely, you'll see that they are reading the beloved cookie book. Caden made Oma read the whole book.

Caden and Evan's first present from Oma and Opa. Evan watches Caden to see how to work the ribbon.

Caden and Evan got some matching studdly leather -type bomber jackets with outfits.

As cute as the jackets were, both boys were really excited about the hangers because they quickly turned them into guns and spaceships.

What! Oma and Opa gave them garbage for Christmas!

Nope, just kidding. Caden got a cool new bike with a handle in the back for Evan to help push.
I know he doesn't look super excited, he just didn't want his picture taken.

Evan got a cool motor cycle-like push vehicle.
Of course, we had to go to the park to try them out.
We never did get a picture of Evan on his toy. He did ride it, but decided he could go faster (and keep up with Caden) without it. So Mom, being the non-photographer, got to carry it around.
Giddy-up Cowboy! Here's Opa with Caden and Brett with Evan. Sorry about the "behind-the- scenes-view", but that was the only picture with all of them I could get.

The 2nd ride was Oma with Caden and Evan with Mommy (Evan and Mommy, not pictured)

Evan and Daddy...ah, how cute. My Brett and baby Brett!

Pre-Christmas

(Sung to the tune "Sisters") "Brothers...brothers, there were never such devoted brothers."
Caden helped Daddy put the lights on the Christmas tree. Sadly the lights plus a few new ornaments (thanks to Oma and Opa) were the only decorating we did for the tree this year.
It's blurry I know, but every blog entry has to have one of Evan's cheesy smiles. What you can't tell from the picture is that Caden is reading Evan my shortbread cookie recipe book. They both really love that book.
Caden with his Uncle Hayden Santa...yeah!
Evan with his Uncle Hayden Santa...bummer!

Pre-Thanksgiving Week

For some unexplained reason, we did not take any pictures at Thanksgiving. At least this time, it's not my fault:) So, all of these pictures come from the week (or weeks) before.

Happy Evan getting to hold Joshua

Sad Evan when Joshua is taken away.

Crazy story. On Wednesday, I was napping on the couch when I hear a car horn start beeping. I assumed Caden found my keys and was pressing the panic button. So, I keep telling Caden (with my eyes still closed) to bring me the keys. Then, there is a loud knock at the door. This poor older lady's car had just started smoking and honking at her. She stopped her car right in front of our house. As she called 911, her car quickly went up in flames. Luckily there is a fire station very near our neighborhood. It didn't take long to put out but her car's interior was completley ruined. She had AAA , which came promtly and her son was able to come pick her up. So all was safe. It did make me think about how much important info I have inside my car. And if I need to get out of my car that quickly, I'm not sure I would have what I needed. Something to think about and up-date my emergency plans.

"I want to pump-- you up!" We don't call him muscles for nothing.

Halloween fun!

This year, we had a family theme for costumes. Evan was a dragon. Caden was Sir Caden, the Good Knight. I was Princess Mommy (I tried to be a Queen, but Caden insisted that I was a Princess), and Brett was King Daddy. Brett carved the boys' pumpkins. Caden picked Superman and Evan is crazy about Thomas the Tank Engine. For Halloween, we always do the Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot. This year, we had to provide enough candy for 250+ kids. It's a great event for my little ones because you get a lot of candy in about 1/2 hour! Yippy!

Silly Boys

Evan is my mess-maker. He loves to play in the pantry, and he loves to be dirty!!

Here, Evan had a brief period of time where he really wanted to have his Spiderman swimmer diapers on. It started on the head and ended up in the correct area. And yes, we did go out in public like this.

By morning, everyone loves to be with Mommy.

Here is my almost Sunbeam! Sunbeam is the name of the kids that will turn 4 in the next calendar year at church. The Sunbeam class is the first time they get to come out of nursery and be with the bigger kids.

The Pumpkin Patch

This last Saturday the boys (and Brett), Grandma, and I went in search of one of my favorite things to do in the Northwest, the pumpkin patch. Our journey began as we went in search for our usual pumpkin patch, but after an hour of driving and a couple of calls to Jeanette we found out that our usual patch is no more. So we drove another half-hour to the EZ Orchards across town. It cost $ but it was a lot of fun. There were horse rides, a small petting zoo, a corn maze, a hay ride, and of course pumpkins, including lots of baby ones. Evan kept wanting Grandma to pick him up in the corn maze. He really knows how to work his Grandma:) Caden did awesome on his first horse ride. The helmet was too big and kept falling in his eyes, but that just added to the cuteness. There was a huge slide that Evan loved doing all by himself, and the boys and I loved the piglets.

Introducing the Randolphs...

Hola all,

So we, the other Randolphs, have decided to jump on the blog band wagon. However, Brett will still devote all his "spare" time to the real website; http://www.fluteandtoot.com/. So now we can keep everyone up to date on our many adventures. Our first big announcement is that we are expecting our 3rd little one sometime in June 2008. We really want a little girl, but Caden is convinced we should have a boy baby. Life is crazy sometimes but a happy crazy, and we are very happy. Love to you all.
